What this position entails…
Marketing Workshop’s Research Associate role primarily assists Research Managers in the management and execution of our research projects. This support is important across each stage of a project – design, orchestration, execution, analysis, and reporting. The variety of methodologies we work with and the diversity of clients we serve keeps things interesting and requires versatility with simultaneous management of multiple projects at varying stages of execution. Our unique work model provides the exposure and experience intended to develop and hone both tactical and strategic skills. Conventional hours usually, with occasional extended time commitments, and occasional travel.
Specifically, what we seek in Research Manager candidates…
This position affords the opportunity to develop and practice skills broadly across all aspects of marketing research and is designed for one who is adaptable, ambitious, promotable, resourceful, and solutions oriented with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done right and on time. Important strengths include a competency and enthusiasm for detailed project management, executional excellence, and accuracy. In addition, one must be team-oriented and collaborative to be a good fit for the role, and hard wired for superior client service.
- Experience:
- Academic coursework in Data Science, Statistics & Analytics, and/or work experience within supplier or client-side consumer insights services lending to a basic knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Project management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience within a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment

Marketing Workshop’s Research Managers are responsible for the development and execution of diverse custom, primary marketing research projects. The position provides critical contributions to the organization at large and requires strategic, technical, and tactical skills. The position calls for a well-rounded marketing-minded, investigative, and enthusiastic researcher, one who works diligently and demonstrates professional maturity. Additionally, to be a fit, one must be entrepreneurially spirited, corporate arena savvy, hard wired for superior client service, and thrive on collaboration.
Specifically, what we seek in Research Manager candidates…
Research Managers, within the scope of best practices, devise customized research programs spearheading the process from start to finish to include collaborating on research design, development of research protocols, vendor management, data management, and report development. Conventional hours usually, with occasional extended time commitments, and occasional travel.
- Experience:
- Supplier-side custom research, minimum of 2 years, with client-side experience a plus
- Effective consultant across internal and client teams
- Experience within a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment
- Proficient with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and protocols development including quantitative questionnaire and qualitative discussion guide development (in-depth interviews, focus groups, onsite intercepts)
- Working knowledge of Central Location Testing
- Research practitioner who adheres to The Insights Association CASRO Code of Standards and Ethics
- Skills:
- Develop banner plans, data/data tables interpretation, data placement in reporting and accuracy checking
- Interpret and communicate results of multi-variate techniques such as derived importance, price laddering, monadic testing, MaxDiff, etc.
- Compose conclusions and recommendations clearly and concisely
- Data visualization, and strategic storyteller report developer with ability to produce impressive PowerPoint reports
- Refined presenter- confidently presents research findings, and effectively addresses client questions
